Privacy Policy of Online Shop

This Privacy Policy of Online Shop (the “Privacy Policy hereafter”) applies to Climanosco’s Online Shop available on the Internet at the address shop.climanosco.org (the “Online Shop” thereafter). It describes the user data we may collect, how we protect it, how we may use it, whom we may share it with, how you may access or update it, and how you can erase it. What data we collect, how we protect it and how long we keep it

  1. While you visit the Online Shop, we’ll track:
    1. Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed.
    2. Products you’ve added to the wishlist: we’ll use this to show you and other users your favourite products, and to create targeted email campaigns.
    3. Wishlists you’ve created: we’ll keep track of the wishlists you create, and make them visible to the store staff.
    4. Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping.
    5. Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
  2. Cookies:
    1. We’ll use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.
    2. We’ll also use cookies to keep track of wishlist contents while you’re browsing our site.
    3. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
    4. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
  3. When you purchase using the Online Shop, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
    1. Send you information about your account and order.
    2. Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints.
    3. Process payments and prevent fraud.
    4. Set up your account for our store.
    5. Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes.
    6. Improve our store offerings.
    7. Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them.
  4. If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
  5. Upon paying, your payment data is transferred directly to the payment service provider. We have no access to your credit card/payment details and keep no record of them.
  6. We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 15 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
  7. Product information on the Online Shop may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
  8. Product information on the Online Shop may include embedded videos from Vimeo. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. We work with Vimeo because they do not use the information they may collect when you watch an embedded video from Vimeo on the Online Shop for direct marketing.   9. All data transfer between your computer and the Online Shop are encrypted using SSL certificates. SSL protects all communications including sensitive personal information and ensures the safety of the information you send to the Online Shop.
  10. We store personal information on secure servers that are managed by us and our service provider located in Switzerland. Personal information that we store or transmit is protected by security and access controls.

Who on our team has access to your data

  1. Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
    1. Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
    2. Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
    3. Wishlist details, such as products added, date of addition, name and privacy settings of your wishlists.
  2. Our team members have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you.

What we share with Sellers

  1. The Online Shop offers product that are sold by either Climanosco or by third party sellers (the “Seller”). The product information clearly indicates whether the product is sold by Climanosco or by a Seller.
  2. When you order a product listed by a Seller on the Online Shop, we share information you provide to us with the Seller. This information includes:
    1. Order information like what was ordered, when it was ordered and where it should be sent, and
    2. Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
  3. The Seller has access to this information to complete your order.

What we share with others

  1. We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you. For instance, we may share your order and shipping information with third parties providing publishing, self-publishing, printing, or shipping services.
  2. We accept payments through secure payment services from Stripe [https://stripe.com/gb/privacy] and PostFinance [https://www.postfinance.ch/en/detail/data-protection.html], two trusted payment service providers. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe or PostFinance, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total, your name, billing or shipping information, and in some cases, your transaction history to authenticate you.
  3. In connection with fraud monitoring, prevention, detection, and compliance activities Stripe or PostFinance may also receive identity related your devices (e.g. your IP address).

What rights you have over your data

  1. If you create an account on the Online Shop, we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
  2. If you have an account on the Online Shop, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Children’s privacy

  1. The Online Shop is not intended for users under the age of eighteen and we do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of eighteen on the Online Shop.
  2. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a visitor under the age of eighteen on the Online Shop, we will delete the information from our records to the extent permitted by law.

Our liability

  1. Despite all efforts made by Climanosco, the Online Shop might, on some occasions, be subject to data protection failures or functionality problems. In such situations, Climanosco will take all necessary steps to re-establish normal data protection and functionality of the Online Shop and will inform any users concerned.
  2. Climanosco cannot be made liable for possible consequences incurred in cases of data protection failures, breaches, data leaks or functionality problems.

Amendments to this Privacy Policy of Online Shop

  1. We will update this Privacy Policy from time to time as required and without prior notice.
  2. We will make sure to notify all registered users of any updates in this Privacy Policy.
  3. Continued use of the Online Shop subsequent to any amendment to the present Privacy Policy constitutes an acceptance of the amendment by the user. It is advised that users review this Privacy Policy regularly.
  4. The effective date of this Privacy Policy is indicated at the top of the page.
